I thought this kind of topic that we recommend our must-have sample packs would be useful for everyone. Good call. I kinda feel like I have no idea how to use a sampler.
In fact, I pretty much use it like an audio editor. Stuff like that. Apart from few BeatHawk packs, I have around GB of drum hits that I handpicked about 20 years ago. My own sample pack i made during last years from all HW synths which went through my hands :-D Absolute gold :-D. Also some of the Noiiz samples Roland sells are way better than I was expecting, especially for the price.
The Dr Sample pack from Samples From Mars is my most used one probably. I also use Boom Bap Wizardry from Boom Bap Labs a lot for some really crispy stuff.
Yeah, basically Sounds of KSHMR , and Black Octopus' Leviathan are all I need for drums in NS2 since I mainly produce EDM.
For Ambient, I normally just synthesise whatever drum sounds I need. In Gadget, I stick with the stock drum samples in London and Recife. com The Black Friday All The Samples From Mars package is a must and contains all sorts of things, beautifully recorded. The sale is still on! I have the Samples From Mars bundle but rarely use it.
Disappointing that nobody nowadays embeds sustaining loops in multi-sample packs. And most of the SFM drum samples can be sourced for free from Reverb , Goldbaby , and a million other sample houses, processed with a few FX if required.
But I suppose SFM is a great value, if you don't want to dig, kind of like IKM Mixbox as an all-in-one effects suite. Multi-samples - Camel Audio Alchemy, Dimension Pro, Rapture and all of their soundpacks are still my favorite for multi-samples with sustaining loops and key in sample name.
Or the Sonic Boom or F9 Instruments and Kits for the MPC, with GBs of WAVs for use in other samplers. Drum One-Shots - Arturia Spark library and its soundpacks have nearly everything, or just search online.
Orchestral - I still use Garritan or samples ripped from Giga, EMU, and Yamaha A-series CDs - they're dated, but I'm not making film scores.

Post by th0mas » Thu Nov 21, am Thanks everyone for your comments! I decided for this little project not to switch to a new paid option, so I tried to optimize my Ableton workflow and have gotten it much better.
adv I don't know why it's not included in Live 9 any more but it's super useful. I load a sample, enable warp, right-click in the sample warp view and select "Slice to new MIDI track". Then I select that preset above. Then in the Zone menu, highlight all samples, right click and select "crop".
