Simple, big, quality and tasty burgers for a great price. The folks here have been doing it great for a long time. The meat has this nice black pepper flavor that is always spot on and savory. They cook them great and top it with fresh produce.
The chicken cracklins are great but I wish it came with gravely instead. You can get a simple, a complex burger or other daily specials like the chicken fried steak. It has a fun hole in the wall vibe to as its hidden in the neighborhood with street parking only, but plenty of it.
Mom and pop vibe Burger place in midtown. The customer service provided makes you feel as though you are a guest at their house. The onion rings are my favorite and some of the best onion rings in Houston.
Sweet potato fries are delicious and dashed with the right amount of salt. The bacon burger was good, but I ordered a medium well burger and in my opinion the meat was cooked almost well done. Everything we ordered was fantastic! Fresh, and very tasty. The dining area was clean, and decorated for Christmas.
All of the staff was helpful and courteous. We ordered the Frito Pie Burger, Patty Melt, Pimento Cheese Burger, Grilled Cheese and the BLT. The onion rings were so good! Great dining experience, I highly recommend! Excellent service and better than average food.
The kids had the chicken fingers with fries. Crispy chicken fingers and small somewhat crunchy fries. I ordered a burger with bacon, cheese and a fried egg. Didn't even dawn on me, until later, that they left off the cheese.
Decent flavor for what looked like a handmade patty. They do serve beer. Will go again to try the breakfast. Limited hours. They were closing at 3pm the day we went. The staff is always very friendly and the food is great!
The avocado toast is tasty and I love the biscuits and gravy. Fun little burger joint in the middle of town. It's held onto its old school charm even as all the condos and apartments around it have been modernized. Burgers are pretty good with combos you normally wouldn't find.
The one with Mac and cheese is surprisingly good and the brisket burger is VERY filling. Southwest burger is also good. For me the most "boring" burger was the double cheeseburger, it just tasted a little plain compared to other burgers I've had.
First time eating here and it quickly became one of my favorite burger joints. I ordered the Grim Burger Burger and WOW!!! It was delicious. The onion rings were a win too!! One small set back, it took forever to get our ticket.

I got there before what I thought would be the lunch rush but I was definitely wrong. The service was great although not as prompt as I normally like. That was due though to having a full restaurant and several tables outside as well and it started raining during my time there so they had to find tables for people inside who were outside.

It's clean and well kept with nice comfy decor. The burgers are delicious!! You can tell they are made the old fashion way can taste the difference between Lankford burgers and your typical burger place. The inside is full of old photos makes it feel very nostalgic.
The waiters were friendly and they kept the great pace with only 2 of them working they took orders and brought food out in a timely manner. I love how everything is in its original state since they opened in I would only suggestion that they get portable air conditioning because I visited when temps reached and although they have several huge fans it was still a little hot.

The gm was talking to us and I didn't even know they had one up in Indy! Nice restaurant, good food, and the staff was great.
Plus they were highly recommended by family and friends. We ordered, trailer park extra trashy, fiesta steak and a democrat taco. Trailer park was ok at best. The way people were recommending it left and right was nowhere to be found.

This is the best taco ever so juicy and stuffy I have ever had in a taco place in Houston. The best ever bite of every flavour filled with richness of meat and spices you will ever have in every single bite here.

The place is small with limited seating so the wait is about an hour a and this was on a Tuesday. However there Happy Hour menu is insanely good, buy one get one so it's totally worth it.
The place feels warm and comfortable. The server was on it and got our order fast. When the food came everything was right and delicious! The food had tons of flavor and it was fresh. Definitely coming back. Great food for an affordable price.

For our main course, we ordered Chicken Katsu, Shrimp Teriyaki and Beef Negimaki. To be frank the food was really great and the food presentation made the food more appealing. The parking is a bit tricky.
The parking lot in front of the restaurant is always filled. But there is an extra parking lot on the left side of the restaurant which is Oishii's own parking lot.

The menu is elaborate and you have options to select from. I recommend a reservation during busy hours as they have indoor seating only. We tried their Lychee sake. On the sushi part, there was so much to select from, the servers help you.

You can get a quality full meal dining out for 10 bucks which is impossible to find nowadays. Good value, yes, but the lack of a reservation system, the long wait, and the dirty interior put us off on the whole experience.
The cuts of fish and the size of the maki roll pieces were almost too big as well. We love to come here during happy hour. Sushi is fresh and at a good price. We enjoyed the iced green tea, eel roll, spicy salmon and spicy tuna roll. Definitely one of my favorite sushi places in Houston.
Parking is my only issue with this place as it is very limited and you have to be careful while backing out of the parking lot. We honestly only go to Oishii now for sushi but every now and then we will go to another sushi spot and can now taste the quality difference, Oishii is top notch.

Got the salmon bento box. The salmon was cooked really well, but the sauce for it was a bit slimy which felt off-putting. Sadly, the sushi rolls that came with the bento box wasn't of the best quality, as the was a lot of rice and not much filling.
Besides that, everything else was pretty standard for the bento and the miso soup. The Wasabi Tako was pretty good, there was a fair amount for the price and a really strong Wasabi flavor. My friends got assorted sushi which I definitely felt like I should have got over the salmon bento.
I also hear that this place always has a long lineup, we were lucky there wasn't one at the time we went, but it was forming as we left. Oishii is a solid Houston staple for Japanese fare at a great price. Their entrees come with large portion sizes. Note: Oishii is extremely popular and the wait times can be long minutes.

Great affordable sushi restaurant that offers a diner feel. We came just before happy hour ended and took advantage of it. The deal was buy one get one for free for some appetizers. We ordered egg rolls, fried squid, and salmon roll and tuna roll.
The rolls from appetizer section was not our favorite. But oiishi rolls were delicious, the hand roll was also fantastic. Also enjoyed their potato croquette immensely! The Joseph roll was lacking flavors though. Unbeatable price for the food we got!

The restaurant is also open on Monday through Thursday until 3 am, and on Friday and Saturday until 12 am. A friend suggested this Mexican-Cuban taqueria and I couldn't have been more pleased with it!
I went with one typical pastor, which was definitely a good quality, and then two of the Cuban tacos which were simply delicious with the beef, beans, and a nice twist of sweet plantains on top!
I also tried the melon juice and could tell it was very fresh and didn't have too much added sugar. I will definitely be coming back here! I am obsessed with their chicken tortilla soup! Hands down the best I have had anywhere. It has the perfect amount of spice, broth, and delicious rotisserie chicken.
I generally get mine via Uber Eats and they package the tortilla strips, cheese and avocado separately. I also order extra chicken to give me extra protein, so it's loaded with chicken. This is the perfect soup for a cold day or if you are feeling under the weather.
I will start trying other things here but for now, this soup is everything! Professional, and friendly staff. They are clean and handle your food with care by taking extra measures to wrap and seal it properly.

The Café Cubano y el Cortadito tasted weird on this visit. Not bad, just different. May be the type of coffee they used. The ropa vieja was good and so were the fried pork chunks and the rotisserie chicken.

The breakfast burrito I grabbed was delicious, but for some reason they cut a to-go burrito in half. Not sure why. The food is fresh, but not flavorful.
Not really sure what I ate. The food seemingly used fresh ingredients, but everything just tasted so bland. Even the sauce was bland. The breakfast tacos at El Rey were excellent. They have a large variety of breakfast tacos as well as other lunch and dinner options all at a reasonable price.
The thing I most noticed about the tacos were that they felt very fresh. I will definitely be coming back here to try more items on the menu. The food is consistently delicious. And this may be a bold statement but I think they have the best shrimp tacos in houston.
The plantains are always perfect. Do yourself a favor and do not order the ropa vieja torta. I called after eating half of my torta and noticing little meat it had. All for the staff to tell be the torta is supposed to have 4 ounces of shredded beef. A dissatisfaction and disappointment of how this was handled.
Staff told me it was because I asked for the slaw on the side that my torta looked like that compared to the fajita torta my friend ordered. The staff is super friendly! really clean and quaint.

AL pastor. Rope Veja. I got home to eat and all 3 tacos had been stuffed with random stuff. Instead of a Cuban with beer, I got rope veja meat tossed on black beans and drenched in sour cream. The other two taste rancid. Everything is freezing cold.
Thus is inexcusable, and I'm never giving the company another dime. Pizza restaurant. Frank's Pizza is a no-frills, late night pizza parlor in Downtown Houston that crowds regularly for its delicious slices of New York-style thin crust pizza.
Frank's also has a two-level open air bar next door that makes it the perfect spot for drinks and socializing after a long day of work or to celebrate a night out. The pizza is always fresh and cooked to perfection, and is even better with the addition of Frank's backyard next door.
Best pizza in Houston! I love their pizza! OMG it I so Good!!! Only downside that they are in downtown but the price is so good for the quality of pizza you get!!! Yum yum and yum! Every celebration in my family involved coming downtown to explore, appreciate the city, and ALWAYS having a slice of Frank's Pizza. It's funny how this little hole in the wall changes an entire block, everyone exiting the restaurant walks out with the biggest smile on their face, and in a much better mood than when they walked in.

The place is classic and located in the middle of downtown, just a block away from Main St and the Houston wall mural, make it a must go.
Tomatoes sauce tastes great and the dough is always well made. Prices are affordable. You can get the whole pizza or by slices. I've been coming here for years and never gave them a review. This is one of the best pizza stops in Houston.
If you like New York style pizza, this is the place to come. They sell it by the slice. Great service and atmosphere. The pizza crust is scrumptious any toppings would taste awesome with this crust. The cheesesteak with fries was also very good. We visited Frank's Pizza last weekend on our visit to Houston from San Antonio.
The Pizza and our salad was so delicious! The price is also very reasonable. We actually ordered a whole pizza fresh from the oven As an aside, it is in a perfect location to take photos downtown. It was an awesome visit!

Yes you can, open until 3am on weekends, this new york style pizza is just what you're wanting after a baseball game, concert, or a few drinks with friends. The classic cheese slice is the top winner, but the pepperoni and the Supreme are close 2nds.
